At Integral fitness & Leisure we will provide fun and enjoyable swimming lessons for all level, beginners’ right through to advanced swimmers. Our enthusiastic, experienced teachers will deliver group lessons and 1 to 1 tuition which will be available to all integral members and non-members. Group lessons will last for thirty minutes and each course of lessons will last for duration of eight continuous weeks. At Integral we strive to provide above average attention and guidance to all swimmers through our ‘Child Learn to Swim’ programme, in conjunction with ‘Swim Ireland’.

Swim Ireland’s ‘Child Learn to Swim’ programme aims to encourage all swimming providers to work to a national framework for swimming lessons. This has been developed by individuals with a great deal of expertise within the swimming world. The programme is about building fun, exciting and innovative swimming lessons to ensure that children in Ireland have positive experiences and can develop important life skills in a fun and safe learning environment.

Who is Swim Ireland?

Swim Ireland is funded and recognised by the Irish Sports Council as the NGB (National Governing Body) for all aquatic sports. The organisation was formed in 1893 and adopted the trading name of Swim Ireland in 1998.

Swim Ireland Ethos and Philosophy

The ‘Child Learn to Swim’ programme aims to reinforce the importance of the practices necessary for effective delivery of swimming lessons, whilst establishing the national standards for learning to swim across a progressive syllabus

The programme

The ‘Learn to Swim’ programme consists of 8 progressive levels and covers the following key stages of development: safety, fun and play, entries and exits, floating, streamling, breathing, sculling, development of the 4 strokes, kick and pull techniques and an introduction to early endurance practices
